BEGINNING OF A COMMUNIST NATION

  • 1945- Soviet troops free North Korea from the Japanese while the US controls the South
  • 1946-North Koreas communist party was inaugurated, Kim ll-sung takes leadership
  • Became a communist state because of the influence of the soviet union
  • 1950-1953- korean war

COMMUNISM IN NORTH KOREA

  • All TV and radio broadcasts are tuned to government propaganda all the time.
  • Life centers around the regime (or leaders)
  • Food, goods, and services are scarce
  • Required to be loyal and serve the government

POLITICAL MAKE-UP OF COMMUNISM

  • One supreme leader- currently Kim Jong-Un
  • If a citizen does not believe the same things as the supreme leader then it is a crime.
  • No one is higher than the supreme leader

ECONOMY AMONGST COMUNISM

  • All means of production are controlled by the government
  • All money is regulated and divided equally among citizens
  • No one can own their own business or property because the government owns everything.
  • No educational or career decisions

GOVERNMENT FAILURE

  • Their economy is failing due to lack of proper regulation
  • Trading among countries is scarce so proper resources are not availiable
