1.
NORTH KOREA VS FAHRENHEIT 451
BY ANDREW TAO
2.
GOVERNEMENT
The government in North Korea is similar to the one in Fahrenheit 451
Both control what the people are allowed to do and what they aren't
Both totalalitarian
Believed that their government has made them happy
3.
GOVERNMENT QUOTE
"If you don't want a man unhappy politically, don't give him two sides to a
question to worry him; give him one. Better yet, give him none.
Let him forget there is such a thing as war." page 61
4.
SOCIETY
In both Farhenheit 451 and North Korea
Both of the people in them are only allowed to do
What the government allows and disallows them to do
5.
SOCIETY QUOTE
The sun burnt every day. It burnt Time . . . Time was busy burning the years and the people anyway,
without any help from him. So if he burnt things with the firemen and the sun burnt Time, !
that meant that everything burnt
6.
CONTROL
The government controls everything in both societies including books
Also, the government controls what the people are allowed to believe in
“Any man’s insane who thinks he can fool the government and us.”
7.
CONFORMITY
Conformity happens in both North Korea and Fahrenheit 451
Both people in the societies conform to their governments
“Monday burn Millay, Wednesday Whitman, Friday Faulkner,
burn em to ashes, then burn the ashes. That’s our official slogan.”
8.
PROPAGANDA
The government lies to the citizens to mislead them and lead them
To believe in lies that they both feed them in both North Korea and 451
"Rule 1. Answer the alarm swiftly. 2. Start the fire swiftly.
3. Burn everything. 4. Report back to firehouse immediately. 5. Stand alert for other alarms"
This quote relates because the government fools them into burning books
9.
REBELLION
Montag and citizens of NK both rebelled and changed
What was happening in both of their societies
"We depend on you. I don’t think you realize how important
you are, we are, to our happy world as it stands now."
Andrew Tao
