Saint Francis Xavier

SAINT FRANCIS XABIER

  • He was instrumental in establishing Christianity in India, Malay archipelago, and Japan.
  • Was one of the first seven members of the society of Jesus (Jesuits)
  • Born- April 7, 1506 died- December 3,1552
  • Acclaimed priest on June 24, 1537

Saint Peter Fabre

SAINT PETER FABER

  • Was Fr. ignatius's first recruit to the society of Jesus
  • Born- April 13, 1506 Died- August 1, 1546
  • Cofounder of the Jesuits
  • Appointed professor of theology at Rome by pope Paul iii
  • Founded Jesuit colleges at Cologne and Spain

Saint aLOYSIUS gonzaga

SAINT ALOYSIUS GONZAGA

  • Born- March 9, 1568 died- June 21, 1591
  • 1585- entered the society of Jesus (Jesuits) at rome
  • While nursing victims of the plague, he contracted the disease himself and died.
  • He is the patron of the youth, named by pope Benedict Xiii in 1729 and confirmed by pope Prius xi in 1926

POPE FRANCIS

  • Entered the Jesuit novitiate in 1958
  • Was ordained priest in 1969
  • Served as the superior of the Jesuit province of Argentina (1973-1979)
  • Earned a licentiate (which is equivalent to a master's degree) in philosophy

Saint ignatius of Loyola

SAINT iGNATIUS OF LOYOLA

  • He was one of the most influential figures in the Catholic reformation of the 16th century
  • Is the founder of the society of Jesus (Jesuits) in Paris in 1534
  • Founded the Roman Catholic college, embryo of the Georgian university, and the Germanuium, a seminary for German candidates the priesthood
  • Established a home for fallen women and one for converted jews
