ST. IGNATIUS oF LOYOLA

  • By 18, he fought in the Spanish war against France.
  • He got badly injured in the war and many doctors told him he might die.
  • He lived and during recovery he read many books about saints and christ. This helped him to listen to God’s voice
  • As well as Ignatius, many other men felt the same way, so they created a group called the society of Jesus (Jesuits)

ST. PETER FABER

  • Was the first person in St. Ignatius Loyola’s group.
  • Very hard on himself, but very gentle with others.
  • Was a missionary

ST. FRANCIS Xavier

  • St. Ignatius of Loyola convinced him to be a priest.
  • Was apart of the Society of the Jesuits.
  • St. Francis Xavier started to minister the people who did not have an eduction in religion.
  • He spoked to others about the Word of God.

ST. PETER CLAVER

  • Dedicated his life to helping the African American slaves.
  • He would care for the sick and dying.
  • He would provide food and water for the slaves.
  • Wanted to reach out to others and say how everyone should be treated equal.

ST. ALOYSIUS GONZAGA

  • At age 9, he dedicated himself to God.
  • A kidney disease limited him to do things. Therefore, he prayed and read books about saints.
  • He joined the Jesuits when he was 18 and he served in a hospital during the plague.
