SAINT IGNATIUS OF LOYOLA
Saint Ignatius is the founder of the society of Jesus
He is the youngest of 13 children
When he was old enough he became a soldier to fight against the French
After being hit by cannon ball and poorly operated on, his military career ended
Saint Ignatius died at the age of 65
Saint Ignatius is important to me because the school that I attend is named after him

FRANCIS XAVIER
Francis Xavier came from a wealthy and noble family
He was in in vicious and proud man who wanted accomplish great deeds in life
He was chosen by Saint Ignatius to do mission work in India Japan and China
His only attention to his personal needs was a pair of boots and his book of meditations
Francis Xavier is important to me because he assisted Saint Ignatius in the creation of the Society of Jesus

ISSAC JOGUES
Isaac was inspired to become a missionary after hearing about Jesuit missionaries in Ethiopia and the Indies
He went to Canada to serve the native people there
There was a lot of conflict in Canada at the time and he was eventually captured, tortured, and then martyred by the Mohawk tribe
Issac Jogues is important to me because he chose to work with people and love them even when other people told him not to

JEAN DE BREBEUF
Jean was a very good student who spoke many languages
He struggled with tuberculosis for a lot of his life
He also did missionary work in Canada and had little success, but was known for being a great leader
Jean was eventually eventually martyred for his faith and service
Jean de Brebeuf is important to me because he taught me to brace different cultures to become a great leader

JOHN CARROLL
John Carroll is the Archbishop of Baltimore
He was the fourth of seven children and lived with his mother
Benjamin Franklin recommended that he should be the first Bishop of the United States
John traveled and worked with Benjamin Franklin for a large portion of his life
John Carroll is important to me because he taught me to believe what I want and not tell anyone else change my beliefs

GERARD MANLEY HOPKINS
Gerard was a 19th-century poet
His poetry exist today, but only because his friend is published after he passed away
He converted from being a Protestant to being a Catholic
Gerard Manley Hopkins is important to me because he taught me to use my words to bring other people closer to God

ROBERT BELLARMINE
Robert was born to a poor Italian family
His father wanted him to become a politician, but his mother wanted him to join the Society of Jesus
He became one of the most influential people to guide the Catholic Church
Robert Bellarmine is important to me because he's taught me to become less selfish
