NUCLEAR ENERGY DISADVANTAGES

• Nuclear waste is dangerous- no good way to make it safe
• Construction and safety is very expensive
• Must be made by people
• Core produces radiation and radioactive wastes
• The wastes can be harmful to humans and may cause health problems

NUCLEAR DISADVANTAGES

• The uranium used is non-renewable and very rare
• Every 18-24 months a nuclear power plant must be shut
• down to remove the dangerous and radioactive wastes
• Wastes stay radioactive for at least 10,000 years
• If nuclear power is so good, why are we decreasing the amount built

With more and more nuclear accidents, such as the incident in Japan in 2011, the United States has backed out of using nuclear power.

Since 1986 there have been 57 accidents caused by nuclear power

Because of nuclear bombs dropped in Hiroshima and Nagasaki there are children born with defects even five decades after the incident.

Nuclear power is not green or clean!!!
