Nucleic Acid

No Description

PRESENTATION OUTLINE

NUCLEIC ACID

CHARACTERISTICS

  • Nucleic acids are the main "information-carrying molecules" of the cell.
  • They are large bio-molecules
  • Contain genetic info
  • They have 4 nitrogenic bases and nucleotide
  • Each nucleotide has 3 components
  • Essential for life
  • Double helix

ELEMENTS

  • Made of nucleotides, which are made up of a base containing nitrogen and sugar that contains five-carbon molecules, and a phosphoric acid.

USES

  • Nucleic acids are large molecules that carry tons of small detail and all the genetic information. Nucleic acids are found in every living thing; plants, animals, bacteria, viruses, fungi!
  • (Because of DNA, this tiger has stripes)
