Number The Stars Project

First Chapter

• Annemarie, Ellen,Kirsti were racing from school in Cophenhegan,Denmark
• German soldiers stopped them by saying "Hault"
• The two older girls were scared ,but Kirsti was sassy
• After the german soldiers asked them a lot of questions the girls walked
• The girls did not tell their parents about it but Kirsti blabbered it out

Second Chapter

• The next day the girls were getting ready for school
• Then they figured out that one of Kirstis jacket buttons were mising
• Annemaries mama told her to go to the button shop after school
• But when they went the shop was closed,then they thought wait they're jewis
• So they looked at the sign on the and it was in german

Third Chapter

• Ellen's family started woorying about it because the owners were jewish
• Then they had thought about that the germans had a list of all the jews
• so they decided that the parents would go with Peter and Ellen with Annemar
• That night the girls acted like sisters to fool the germans if they came
• At 4:00 in the morning the germans came to the house

Chapter 4

• Then Annemaries family worried about they would maybe come back agin
• So papa called Uncle Henrik and said something about "ciggaretes"
• Then the girls traveled to Uncle Henriks house
• Then they got there and they cleaned up his house while he was gone
• They kept explainig that Henrick needs a wife

Chapter 5

• On there way to Henricks they had to catch a bus but there were Nazis on.
• The nazis came over an asked "are you celebrating the new year"
• "No , well that is silly why would we celebrate now" said mom " no reason"
• They hoped Kirsti would not say that ellen was Jewish, luckily she didn't.
• They all sighed with relief thet she just talked about her shoes
