Nunavut's Government

The government in Canada is a constitutional monarchy that is also a parliamentary democracy and federation.
In Nunavut, there is a chief executive appointed by the federal government called the Commissioner, whose role is largely symbolic. The head of the government is the Premier, who is chosen by and from the elected Legislative Assembly of Nunavut. The assembly is composed of 19 members serving 4-year terms of office, and representing a total of about 33,000 constituents, many belonging to the scattered Inuit tribes.
