Non Renewable

  • we get these fossil fuels by fracking
  • we know they are there by drillling samples
  • we also get uranium from russia because we dont have much here

Coal

  • Coal is a fossil fuel and comes from fraking
  • we know it is there because we research places that have coal in the soal
  • we dont have it here because the soil is different

Oil

  • Oil also comes from fracking
  • we dont have it here because it is not the right soil because we destroy the soil
  • we know it is there because we use a machine to locate it and we then use a drill to get oil but this takes time

Natural Gas

  • we get natural gas from deep in the ground and we use fracking to get it
  • we find it by using a machine to drill samples and see if there is natural gas in it
  • it is only in certain parts of the world because some soil is different

Nuclear

  • Nuclear comes from splitting an atom
  • we have to contain it in a factory
  • if it explodes... bye bye world

renewable energy

  • renewable energy includes solar, wind, hydropower, biomass.
  • we get these from the sun, wind, water, living things.

Solar

  • We get solar energy from the sun
  • this is a renewable source because the sun will never go away
  • we set up solar panels to get energy

Wind

  • this is a renewable source because wind will always be there and it will never cause pollution
  • prices have gone down and are expected to keep going down
  • wind comes from the sun

Hydropower

  • it is much safer than all the other fuels
  • hydropower will always be here cause water will always be here

Biomass

  • we will always have it cause it comes from plants and other things
  • it is part of the carbon cycle
  • cost less than fossil fuels so you pay less
  • large quantities all over the world

Distributing Energy

  • we distribute energy by pipelines, ships, power substations, and power grids
  • these costs a lot of money to place and for some it costs alot of money to cross the ocean

Conserving Energy

  • We conserve energy by turning off lights and water and stuff like that when we are not using them
  • it doesnt cost as much when we conseerve energy
