FACTS ABOUT EQUIANO

  • FACT ONE
  • Children were often captured from his area for slavery
  • They were taken while they played, and needed lookouts
  • I think this is disgusting
  • Children should be able to play and not worry about kidnapping

FACTS ABOUT EQUIANO

  • FACT TWO
  • He worked for a widow and her son for a while in Africa
  • She almost treated him like a son
  • I think this was a benefit to him in the long run
  • He was fed and taken care of, which allowed him to stay healthy

FACTS ABOUT EQUIANO

  • FACT THREE
  • While he was on the slave ship, he tried to learn
  • He watched the sailors working the ship to figure things out
  • This also helped him in the long run
  • I think it benefitted him in his future as a sailor

FACTS ABOUT EQUIANO

  • FACT FOUR
  • He was able to purchase his freedom after working
  • He was also able to find a job as a sailor
  • I think he was very lucky to be able to do this
  • Most slaves didn't get this chance, and they also probably couldn't have found jobs
