NICOLAUS COPERNICUS

  • Lived from February19,1473- May 24, 1543
  • His father was a merchant.
  • His mother was the daughter of a wealthy merchant.
  • Nicolaus was the youngest of 4 children.

INVENTIONS

  • Heliocentric model- a model that placed the sun at the center of the universe instead of earth.
  • He contributed to the Scientific Revolution.

JOHANNES KEPLER

  • He was claimed to be weak and sickly as a child.
  • His father was a mercenary.
  • His mother was a healer and herbalist, that was tried for witchcraft.

INVENTIONS

  • He came up with the eponymous laws of planetary motion.
  • These laws were the foundation for Isaac Newton's universal law of gravity.

EPONYMOUS LAWS OF PLANETARY MOTION

GALILEO GALILEI

  • Originally from Pisa, Italy.
  • His father was a famous lutenist, composer, and musical theorist.
  • His mother was a stay at home mom.

INVENTIONS

  • The telescope.
  • He contributed on finding the planets and the sun.
  • He was the first to see Jupiter.
