SEDIMENTARY

  • Ash from volcanoes forms layers of sediment.
  • Layers of sediment harden into rock.
  • Some sedimentary rock wears away to form new layers of sediment

METAMORPHIC

  • Heat and pressure change sedimentary rock into metamorphic rock.
  • Heat melts metamorphic or sedimentary rock into magma deep within earth.

IGNEOUS

  • Magma cools slowly beneath Earth's surface and hardens into igneous rock.
  • Igneous rock under heat and pressure becomes metamorphic rock.
  • Igneous and metamorphic rocks wears over time and forms layers of sediment.

COUCLUSION

  • In conclusion metamorphic rock means to change or form.
  • Metamorphic rocks can form from sedimentary rocks, igneous rocks, and even other metamorphic rocks.
  • Sedimentary rocks form when layers of sediment settle on top of one another and harden.
  • Igneous rocks form from magma.

OUR FAVORITE ROCK

  • Our favorite rock is igneous.
  • It is our favorite rock because the often have crystals that interlock.
