At the urging of baron Pierre de coubertin the international Olympic committee (IOC) is founded

Second modern games are overshadowed by and incorporated into, the Paris exposition. 1319 men from 26 countries compete in 75 events. Only 11 women were allowed to compete in lawn tennis and golf.

• Only 13 countries showed up to the marathon
• Fred lorz drove his car 11 miles during the marathon,but briefly taken a winner .

First,last, and only intercalated games were held in Athens, as the Greeks plan to hold interim games between Olympics every four years.
