Early Life. I was Born August 5, 1930, Wapakoneta, OH. When I was just a boy, I loved airplanes. My father took me to an air show and at age 16 I earned my pilot's license. I was a boy scout and earned an Eagle Scout Badge.
Later Years. I retired from NASA in 1971 and worked at a new job. I was a professor of aerospace engineering at the University of Cincinatti. I worked in many positions at NASA.
I passed away at the age of 82 in 2012 in Cincinnati, OH.
