Dombeck states, "People's identity is rooted in their identifications; in what they associate themselves with and that can sometimes get lost in marriage." He continues by explaining identity more in depth, "Identity is not just what you know; it is also how you know. People are not born with an identity. Rather, identity is something that evolves over time." Bottom line is, there are dangers of finding your identity in a marriage. it's best to know who you are before you decide to get married, and although marriage brings happiness it should not fix all your problems and make them go away. marriage has a greater purpose.
