WHAT IS ONLINE GROOMING?

  • Predators, usually adults, try to create a relationship with a child.
  • They try to convince the child that they are okay.
  • They will try to create a bond with the child, saying that life with them would be great.
  • They want to have a relationship with the teen or child online.

WHAT IF IT HAPPENS TO YOU?

  • Tell an adult.
  • Have your parents check it out
  • Delete the website

HOW ARE WE AFFECTED?

  • Teenagers are the most affected by online grooming.
  • Online grooming could happen to any person on any other social networking sites.

HOW TO BE SAFE ONLINE

  • Don't talk to anyone you don't know in real life, or know someone who knows them.
  • Never respond to anonymous messages.
  • Remember: SOME SITES JUST AREN'T SAFE!!!
  • Anything posted online is (metaphoriacally) there FOREVER.
  • Keep a general sense of privacy when posting online.
