Scientist think that the Cambrian time period ended because of volcanic eruptions which caused the lack of oxygen thus creating the Ordovician time period.
The Ordovician time period had high sea levels, and the land was pretty much flat and near sea level. Most life on Earth was aquatic animals, and some insects were on the beaches.
The supercontinent of Pannotia broke up and the continents drifted away from each other, but plate tectonics made some of the continents drift together again into another supercontinent, Gondwana. At the North and South Poles, there was ice.
