Orson Scott Card writes novels that range from young readers to adults. His different series cast a wide range with contemporary fantasy, science fiction, biblical novels, poetry, and plays.
He was born in Richland, Washington in 1951 and grew up between California, Arizona, and Utah. He has a wife named Kristine Allen Card, married 1977, and resides in North Carolina. They had 5 children named Michael Geoffrey, Emily Janice, Charles Benjamin, Zina Margaret, and Erin Louisa.
Card had played the French horn, tuba, and sousaphone in school bands. He started college as an archeology major but switched to theatre once he realized he made the wrong decision. He founded and failed a theater company and produced plays at The Castle in Orem, Utah during the depression. This resulted in him creating Ender’s Game
He occasionally teaches at Southern Virginia University as well as picking up workshops and plays to assist in. He is currently offering basic sessions via Storycraft for under $70.
He did not originally intend for his works to follow his beliefs but all of his books stem from Mormon ethics and principals due to it being a major factor in his life.
I personally chose to read the Mithmagers series a few years ago when I saw the Ender's Game movie. I have recently purchased the Patherfinder's Series.
