PRESENTATION OUTLINE

Ortho Projection

Made by Cristian Cruz

What's Orthographic projection?

Orthographic projection is..

  • A 3D object shown in 2D and seen in various angles.
  • This format allows us to view objects in different ways and to assure there's not an error in anything we design as a 3D object

Being able to draw out what your thinking has been very important for both inventors and engineers.
While the process to make an orthographic projections seems to be just drawing, it also involves accuracy and scaling to other objects.

Layout for Ortho Projection

  • top left of the image is a 2nd Denominational view from above the object

Layout for Ortho Projection

  • bottom left image is the 2nd Denominational view from the side of the object

Layout for Ortho Projection

  • bottom right image is the 2nd Denominational view from the front (shaded) of the object

Layout for Ortho Projection

  • The last part of this drawing is the top right which is the configuration of all 3 2D drawings to make a 3D object.
  • this is also a representation of the finished product

2D Drawing

  • laying out all your plans in 2D before attempting 3D is very important so you can find errors and mistakes that are difficult to see in a 3D layout

most common view

  • most common view would be the front of the object
  • this view will normally show the most information from your structure
  • however all sides are needed to construct a 3D image of the object needed and there's not one side that explains the whole image

Orthographic imagery

  • before you begin with drawing and Ortho Projection you must consider the object you want to make
  • imagine the object you want inside a glass box. the sides of the box would be your different views of the object, above the glass box would be your top, side of the box would be your side view etc.
