THE QUESTION

Will it ever in a human life time be possible to travel to other galaxy's?

WHY WE CHOSE THE QUESTION

  • We chose this because it is something in general that interests us and Is something that would be good to find out.

WHY IT WONT BE POSSIBLE

  • The closest galaxy to ours is the Andromeda, it is 2.5 million light years away. I will go on to light years later on.
  • A human on average lives to the age of 82, so they would not be able to live out the journey.

LIGHT YEARS

  • In one year light travels about 6 trillion miles. This is called a light year. It took the Appollo astronauts 4 days to reach the moon. This is equal to 1 light second.
  • The closest star to our sun, Proxima Centauri is 4.24 light years away from our sun.
  • The Milky Way across is100,000 light years.

TRIGONOMETRIC PARALLAX

OUR CONCLUSION

  • It will not be possible to travel to other galaxy's in a human life time, due to the fact that the human and its equipment would not last out the journey.
