PRESENTATION OUTLINE

Our Place in God's Narrative

This is God's story.

God's mission is to reconcile, renew and restore all things within His good creation so that His good creation may enjoy fulfillment and satisfaction in His presence under His good rule and sovereignty.

Fall

Adam and Eve decided to rule for themselves.  This broke relationship with God, each other, themselves and creation.
When Adam and Eve disobeyed God, they usurped God's right to rule and decided to rule for themselves. This broke relationship with God, each other, God's good creation and themselves. It brought God's curse into the world and all creation has been labouring underneath it.
God is in the process of restoration of all things which is possible through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

God seeks to redeem His good creation through Israel, Jesus and the Church

God was seeking to create a contrast society through Israel, where all the nations around them might learn what it means to be under God's good rule and be partakers in 'Shalom'
Jesus came as Messiah and fulfilled God's mission. Through his death on the cross and His resurrection he has brought about a new world order in the kingdom of God. Creation is in the process of being restored which won't be fully realised until Jesus returns.

Restoration

God is restoring His good creation back to Himself but this won't be fully realised until Christ's return.

The Church

is a community of God's people, centred on Christ

Who are empowered and led by the Spirit.

And  who participate in the mission of God, to help bring His "Shalom" to all His good creation.

Disciples are being transformed into the image of Christ. They live lives of purity inwardly as well on the outside of their lives.

Discipleship

my role in God's mission

To continue to nurture my own relationship

with God, by ministering to Him through Worship and Adoration.
To continue to grow in spending time at least twice a week for 15 minutes at a time ministering to the Lord in worship through playing my guitar and singing of His greatness, His love and mercy etc. and waiting in His presence to hear Him speak to me to strengthen my spirit and so that I will have something of God to share with others.

Spend Unhurried Time

in God's Word
School holidays are coming up and I am so looking forward to spending my mornings on my front verandah, coffee in hand and some unhurried time in God's word. I really want to chew over the books of Ephesians and Colossians, 1John and Hebrews.

Look Outward

Towards Others

Give Away

the Encouragement and Strength God has given to me
Because of the busyness of my life and the things I am involved in at church, when the school holidays come, I will reach out to three unsaved ladies in my life and build relationship with them on a deeper level by going out for coffee and just spending some time talking and sharing God's love with them, while keeping my eyes peeled for anything practical I can do to help.

Being a Leader

who honours others above myself.
By following Christ's example to be a leader who serves others and who honours God and others above myself. To lead by example and to reflect Christ in all my relationships and activities. To bring Him glory in every moment of my life, that's my goal.

Every Day Trustingly

putting my hand in God's hand and letting Him lead me.
At the beginning of each day put my hand in God's hand and seek His strength for the day and His guidance. Trust Him in all this. It's a slow and sometimes faltering walk.
