Jupiter

  • Jupiter is a gas giant
  • named after the king of the gods
  • has a powerful magnetic field

uranus

  • seventh planet from the sun
  • first planet discovered with the use of a telescope
  • got tilted 98 degreees

Dwarf Planets

  • 5 officially recognised dwarf planets in our solar system
  • found in the outer solar system
  • dwarf planets can't make themselves into circles

Kuiper Belt

  • made up of methane, nitrogen, ammonia, and water
  • At least three dwarf planets are located in the Kuiper belt
  • disk-shaped region found in the outer solar system

Neptune

  • It takes Neptune 164.8 Earth years to orbit the Sun.
  • Triton, was discovered just 17 days after Neptune itself was discovered
  • Neptune also has a second storm called the Small Dark Spot

saturn

  • Saturn is the least dense planet in the Solar System
  • Saturn is a flattened ball
  • The first astronomers thought the rings were moons.

  • A comet has four components a nucleus, a coma, a dust tail and an ion tail
  • the cloud of gases that forms around the nucleus as the coma is heated is know as the coma
