Overhunting is when too much hunting causes
problems in animal populations.

CAUSES

  • A rise in human population causes a need for more food.
  • People hunt for sport, and survival.
  • People hunt for food and fur.

POSITIVE EFFECTS

  • Population control
  • Money spent on hunting licenses goes to programs to help protect the environment and wildlife

NEGATIVE EFFECTS

  • Effects food chains and disrupts natural order
  • Can lead to possible extinction in an animal species
  • Imbalances ecosystems
  • 23% of population extinctions are caused by overhunting

SOLUTION

WE COULD ENFORCE STRICTER LAWS OR CREATE NEW LAWS THAT LIMIT HUNTING SO OVERHUNTING DOESNT BECOME A PROBLEM.
