PRESENTATION OUTLINE

Overpopulation

How much is too much?

"Overpopulation is an undesirable condition where the number of existing human population exceeds the carrying capacity of Earth."

The causes of overpopulation are:
*increase in births
*decrease in deaths
*not enough resources to sustain the population

There are 2x more births than deaths each year in the world

IMPACT

  • hungry population
  • thirsty population

"The study found that the dynamics of population and access to food are becoming increasingly prone to instability."

24,685 people die of hunger every day

0.003% of all the water on earth is usable

Over-population
Over-population

why?

  • There's 799 million undernourished people in the world.
  • There's 1.60 billion overweight people in the world.

So we can't feed our poor?

Or are we simply not sharing the food?
