DEFINITION

  • Excessive population of an area to the point
  • Of overcrowding.
  • This is caused by increased birth rates, decline in
  • Morality rates, or an increase in immigration.
  • This can cause depletion of natural resources.

HOW HAS IT EFFECTED THE WORLD

  • 1 out of 7 people go to bed hungry.
  • 25,000 die from malnutrition
  • 18,000 of them are children.

WATER SHORTAGES

  • A great amount of people lack access to clean water.
  • Because of so many people, aquifers are being used
  • Faster than they can be replenished.
  • There is not enough water for consumption, agriculture
  • And sanitization.

OIL AND GAS

  • If the population was smaller we wouldn't have to
  • Rush to drill for more oil.
  • The use of fossil fuels in larger amounts is putting more
  • Co2 into the atmosphere.
  • Between 2005 and 2020, oil production will start to decline.
