On 17 March US & EU intervened in Libya against Gaddafi
With a death toll over 30,000 and 6 months of war, the government was overthrown
Gaddafi was killed by rebel forces

Reported the next day approx. 3000 were arrested
On July 29 Free Syrian Army was formed
July 31 Assad's army tanks stormed several cities and killed many people
