DUH OWL AND DER FUNCTIONS

BY JUSTIN MILLER AND JOE FERRANTI

Nocturnal behavior :BECAUSE OF EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS OF "RODS" IN THEIR EYES they see in the dark

Catching prey:SHARP CURVED TALONS , SPECIAL EAR HOLES, AND SILENT FLIGH IMPROVE HUNTINGt

Big eyes: big eyes bring in more light to help see in the dark

Fixed eye holes:
Because of their big eyes and "Rods" muscles don't exist

No "cones": there are little to no "cones" which perceives color thus owls are color blind

Hearing: Owls hear with ears that are at different levels of head giving the height of a sound

Claws: an owls claws are called talons

Owls have feathers all down their legs in case of the "retaliation" of prey

Owl have fringed wings allowing silent Flight

Swallowing prey: at 3 weeks owls can swallow prey whole

Owl pellet: I hate my dog who will hopefully be eaten by an owl and the fur and bones will be regurgitated into the rotten mess is it

This barn owl mostly eats mice

Eggs: owls lay eggs at different times to ease feeding to many freeloaders

It is important for baby owls to leave the nest, because food population decreases in that area

Age of barn owls: 15-20 years although many die from attack,or food shortage
