TYPES OF CFC'S EFFECTING THE OZONE LAYER

Aerosols, refrigerators, foams, and solvents no longer include CFC's as their production was phased out.

~METHYL BROMIDE~
As methyl bromide and halons are broken apart, they release bromine atoms, which are 40 times more destructive than chlorine atoms.

PERCENT PER YEAR FOR METHYL BROMIDE REDUCTION

Methyl bromide is considered an ozone depleting chemical and thus falls under the Clean Air Act with an ozone depletion potential of 0.2%.

~HALONS~
Halons contain bromine or iodine.

Halons are used in fire distinguishers!

Halons have lifespans in the atmosphere of 60 to 110 years.
