Spartans usually grew their hair long and wear little and thin clothing when training.
However when they were fighting or training they were getting in a phalanx formation they stood close together with shields touching and their spears jutting straight out ahead.
Spartans used to take the boys and train them. Spartans were teaching them how to put up with pain. They used to take theme out to a wall and hit them with a big rope.
And another training they were playing games and wars. And also they had to learn about Spartans so they knew what to do when they grow up.
The Spartan's main weapon was the dory spear. For long range, they carried a javelin. The Spartiates were always armed with a xiphos as a secondary weapon. Among most Greek warriors, this weapon had an iron blade of about 60 centimeters; however, the Spartan version was typically only 30-45 centimetres.
