Type 1
Insulin is not produced, symptoms show quickly, can be treated through insulin injections, most common in youth, makes up 15% of all cases.

Type 2
Most common in adults, can be treated by weight loss or insulin, symptoms show slowly over time, body doesn't recognize insulin, 85% of all cases

Type 1 and type 2 diabetes have the same symptoms: Weight loss, blurred vision, urination, and genital itching,

Complications include: infections, blindness, kidney failure, coma, heart attack or stroke, and death.
