Independent variable: the one thing that is changed in a experiment. When testing an experiment to see if low temperatures affects fruit growth the independent variable would be different kinds of fruit.

Virus: a small infection agent that reproduces only inside the cells of other living organisms. People are just one many that can be affected by viruses.

carbohydrates: a large group of organic compounds occuring in foods and living tissues. Sugar is an example of a carbohydrate.

Genotype: your genetic characteristics that cannot be seen by the human eye. Your DNA is a genotype.

Trait: a physical characteristic of an organism. The environment also plays a big role in how traits are shown hair can lighten or skin can darken in the sun.

affects humans both positively and negatively. Mushrooms are an example of fungi.

abiotic: a nonliving thing. Rocks are abiotic.
