WHO

• Emily Mason, a graduate student at Catholic University, found the solar rain.
• Nicholeen Viall, a solar scientist at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, wrote a paper on the suns rays.
• Dr. Spiro Antiochos, who is also a solar physicist at Goddard, was a co-author of the paper.

WHERE

• Emily Mason studied photos taken by NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory.
• This took place in Catholic University where Mason studied them.

WHEN

• Mason's started to study the origin of coronal rain in mid-2017.
• April 5, 2019 the paper was published describing findings .

HOW

• Magnetic loops that are different from helmet streamers, smaller loops are where the rain is happening.
• This is like the rain cycle on earth.
• They discovered a new part of the sun.

I think it is cool how we can know more and more about the sun and our galaxies.

I was amazed that we can find this out about the sun.

This does not affect me but maybe it could in the future.

I would ask Mason was it worth it looking at the photos of sun for two years.
