  • Each tape had a different story on it.
  • The 13 people on the tapes were the ones who made Hannah take her life.

SETTING

  • It takes place all over the town Hannah lives in.
  • The book takes place in present day.

CHARACTERS

  • Hannah: she committed suicide.
  • She left audiotapes behind saying why she took her life.
  • Clay: he had crush on Hannah and also is the narrator.
  • He was on the tapes but never really did anything to Hannah.
  • Clay and Hannah are the two main characters.

THEME

  • The theme was guilt and blame.
  • Hannah blamed 13 people for her death.
  • The 13 people felt guilty for what they did to Hannah.

PERSONAL CONNECTIONS

  • You are never alone.
  • There is always someone you can talk to.
