PH CONTROL

BY DUSTIN MCCARTY, & TY EBERLE

SOIL PH

  • Is a measure of how acid or alkalinity is
  • Is important because it influences how easily
  • Soil plants can take up nutrients from the soil

REGIONAL DIFFERENCES

  • There are many factors that affect ph.
  • Some of them are rainfall, vegetation type, and more
  • Regions with heavy rainfall have acidic soils.
  • Light rain results in a more neutral soil.
  • Ph is also affected by construction.

CHANGING PH

  • Most garden plants grow well in slightly acid to neutral soil (pH 6.0-7.0)
  • Except blueberries, potatoes, azaleas, and rhododendrons
  • Which prefer moderately acid soil.

IMPORTANCE OF PH IN SOIL

  • Soil is important to farmers and gardeners.
  • Many plants have a preference for certain soils.
