College Minor Policy

COLLEGE OF ARTS & SCIENCES MINOR POLICY

The College of Arts & Sciences does not allow students to major and minor in the same department, due to the college goal of providing students with “a broad-based education” (General Catalog, College of Arts & Sciences). The Hobson Academic Services Center in the college has enforced this policy and continues to do so: No student may pursue a minor program housed in the same department of their major(s). Furthermore, no student may use more than 6 hours of coursework for completion of a minor with the same prefix as their major(s).
