What do Virologists do?

  • Study Virus's and Virus like agents.
  • They study how cells infect,reproduce.
  • The structure of Virus's.
  • The Diseases they cause.
  • Learn how to culture and isolate them.

Working Conditions?

  • Usually inside.
  • Exposed to diseases and illnesses.
  • May share workspace with other scientists/assistants.
  • Sometimes have to wear lab coat. 

Education of a Virologist:

M.D. or Ph.D. with postdoctoral training.

Must earn medical license.

3-5 years of postdoctoral experience.
