PRESENTATION OUTLINE
HELIOS and PHAETHON THE SUN CHARIOT
This story focused mostly on the gods not on The Ancient Greece history so it provided a limiting view of Ancient Greece. The story had more of a religion of gods than climate and transportation.
THE GIFT of FIRE ZEUS and PROMETHEUS
The story had more of a revealing parts of Ancient Greece. This makes me say this because it talks more about Ancient Greek culture than just what they believe me. My evidence is.
"From the very first, humans had trouble with the gods. Most gods thought of humans as toys. But some gods found themselves interested in the human race. Some gods even made friends with the humans. One of those gods was named Prometheus."
Culture and Society
This story showed more Ancient Greece culture than in the other story's. It talks about government, family life, and the arts of Ancient Greece. This is my evidence.
"c.800 BC"
"The majority of Greek states were governed by groups of rich landowners, called aristocrats; this word is derived from 'aristoi', meaning best people. This was a system known as 'oligarchy' the rule by the few."
Conclusion
In all of my research I have found I have finally found my answer to the question "How is Folklore Simultaneously Revealing and Limiting?" My answer is, it is more revealing then limiting because it shows you most of the facts of what Ancient Greece has given us. It showed lots of things like government, family life, their arts, their religion, their climate, their transportation, and even their beliefs. But the thing I care about most would be their contributions like sports, and the colosseum. That is why I picked Ancient Greece because it has so much culture.
