These are the most important things you should know about Tsunamis. A tsunami is when a large amount of water is displaced. Water can be displaced by lots of things but earthquakes are the most common. Tsunamis usually come right after earthquakes. This happens because shake the ground under the water, which rolls back and builds up until it's too big to sustain. The disturbances can happen under water or above water but they still have the potential to generate a Tsunami. Most disturbances happen above water but even though there's a slim chance an aquatic explosion will generate a tsunami it still can. Tsunamis are very dangerous they can happen to anyone, anywhere ,at anytime.

You're probably wondering where the strong force of a tsunami comes from. The force of a tsunami comes from the ocean wave and the tide. For example in Thailand Indonesia there was the biggest tsunami ever and that was because of the ocean waves and tide. The ocean waves are generated by the wind. Another word for ocean wave is also a tidal wave but I a tidal wave and tide are not the same things. The tide is generated by the pull of the sun and moon on a body of water. Some people mistake tides for tidal waves but a tide is the way the water rises and drops. Most people don't know what the forces of tsunamis are but now you do.

There are lots of damages that tsunamis cause on people, structures and other things. The damage a tsunami causes depends on the seismic event, the distance ,its size and the depth of the water in the ocean. Like if you're in a pool and you splash water, the deeper the pool, the big splash. Large tsunamis can swoop houses away and crush them like tinfoil. Small tsunamis can be very destructive but some are as gentle as a ladybug. Sometimes small tsunamis go only about 1 meter on shore. Tsunamis cause a lot of damages to a lot of different things.

Tsunamis usually occur in Japan which is why they are losing most of their natural environment. The fish and water animals will die because of all the residue in the water. The water just absorbs everything in its path path even if it's a fire. I think all the birds will survive because they can fly. We have not experienced a tsunami big enough to kill a bird yet. I think the trees and grass are going to die because trees will be swept away and the grass will be overwatered. When plants to get too much water they become droopy and floppy. Lots of plant life is being lost everyday because of tsunamis happening all over the world.

Unfortunately thousands of people die every day due to not knowing how to protect themselves from tsunamis. It is essential to learn the signs of tsunamis even if you don't live near water. There are three sides of a tsunami which is the water draws or rolls back into the ocean. You should practice a tsunami drill if you live near water at least once a year. It is good to have a drill because if your near water and a tsunami comes, you know where to go and what to do. You could also get an app which tells you in advance when a tsunami is coming. Like SMStsunamiwarning or earthquake and tsunami alerts and other apps too. Thousands of people have died by not knowing the warnings of tsunamis.

I think we can stop people from dying, during a tsunami by being aware. Even more people die everyday even after a tsunami because of the contaminated water. Tsunamis are very interesting so I suggest you go to these websites and search for tsunamis to learn more:SMStsunamiwarning and Wikipedia. Thank you.
