CUP A

HOT WATER

CUP B

ROOM TEMPERATURE

CUP C

COLD WATER

Cup A had hot water. Before putting it in the water it was 17 inches when stretched. After placing it in the water it was 14 inches.

Cup B had room temperature water. Before placing it in the water it was 17 inches when stretched. After placing it in water it stretched to 13 inches.

Cup C had cold water. Before placing the rubber band in water it stretched to 17 inches. After placing it in the water it stretched to 19 inches.

The cold rubber band stretched the furthest because when the temperature is cold the rubber band's molecules relaxed and then expanded, but when the molecules heat up they vibrate and don't stretch as much.
