Monarchy

  • A system of government where the rule inherits his/her power 

strengths:

  • If the leader was a good leader it would be a strong city state
  • for the most part you didn't have to worry about bad people ruling
  • You would know ahead of time who is going to rule (yay for pre-planning)

Weaknesses

  • The ruler could stink at ruling bigtime
  • The poor didn't get a lot of money ):

Oligarchy

  • A system much like a monarchy but with multiple leaders

Strengths

  • Very strong armies to help during warring periods 
  • Multiple strong leaders to keep people in place

weaknesses

  • The poor had little rights and if you were born poor you stay poor
  • slaves were usually forced into slavery like poor farmers or unenployed
  • poor got poorer and rich became richer

Tyranny

  • A system of government where ruler unlawfully takes charge
This definition is a very simple version because the full one wouldn't fit on the page

Strengths

  • This system gives more rights to unwealthy people
  • If a bad ruler came they cold easily be taken down

weaknesses

  • ruler isn't chosen by law so people can fight them down causing chaos
  • The tyrant could start to make unreasonable laws for selfish purposes

democracy

  • A system of government where citizens vote on descions made

Strengths

  • It gave the people equal rights on all problems and oppurtunities
  • Everyone is entilted to their opinion

Weaknesses

  • People can persuade others in making bad voting descions
  • Only free men could vote
