PRESENTATION OUTLINE

ERASING TIME

AUTHOR: C. J. HILL

Main Characters
Sheridan and Taylor Bradford are identical twins from the early 21st-century (modern day). Sheridan is considered the creative one while Taylor is the smarter of the two.

The sisters are pulled four hundred years into the future by a Time Strainer. This is a machine that can convert matter into energy to travel through time and then turn the object back into matter. The scientists controlling this machine mistakenly took the twins instead of their intended victim an accomplished scientist named Tyler Sherwood.

The 25th-century is different from the era the main characters are used to.
~ Cities are under domes
~ Everything is monitored
~ Tracking devices in arms
~ Most history has been forgotten
~ Government conceals information from its citizens
~ Memory wipe is done to anyone who does not follow the rules exactly

The Time Strainer is irreversible, meaning Sheridan and Taylor can never return to their time period, so the girls try to blend in. They soon learn they will never be able to and they try to escape the domed city.

The girls are able to forge an escape plan with the help of a few friends they make in the city and it is not until this time the scientists realize they did bring the right person over. Taylor used the pen name Tyler Sherwood in her scientific research.

Both girls are able to escape the city and join a rebel group away from any government, although they can never go home they find more comfort with the rebels then anywhere else in the 25th-century.

Dystopia
-Undesirable society: everyone was watched all day long from how one acted to what one searched for on the database; never any privacy
-Frightening Government: memory wipes were a common punishment
-Environmentally Degraded: much of the world was in ruins, lived in domes
-No Happy Ending: the twins were never able to return home
