First known settler dates back to 1606. Followed after, around 1770, Lieutenant James Cook was sent on an adventure by Great Britain discovering Australia and returned with accounts favoring colonization at Batony Bay
In all, eleven ships were sent in what became known as the First Fleet. Other than the convict transports, there were two naval escorts and three storeships. The fleet assembled in Portsmouth and set sail on 13 May 1787. The fleet arrived at Botany Bay on 20 January 1788.
After moving further into the harbour, on 26 January 1788 Captain Phillip raised the British flag at Sydney Cove. 751 convicts and their children disembarked, along with 252 marines and their families.
When the U.K. sent out prisoners to be prisoned out in Australia. They left them with little to no food, so the had to farm and find their own to survive. Farming was weird in Australia, instead of regular farming in the spring, near summer. In Australia the farming was in the winter
