PRESENTATION OUTLINE
There are a lot parallels between professional athletes and the most successful entrepreneurs
Let's start by comparing two quotes from one of the best football players and best entrepreneurs ever to live
“Today I will do what others won’t, so tomorrow I can accomplish what others can’t.” - Jerry Rice
“Today I will do what others won’t, so tomorrow I can accomplish what others can’t.” – Jerry Rice
“I’m convinced that about half of what separates the successful entrepreneurs from the non-successful ones is pure perseverance.” — Steve Jobs
The constant theme is a dedication to growth everyday
That .01% Growth Everyday Leads to Mastery and Ultimately Massive Success
Here are some habits and rituals the best athletes and entrepreneurs participate in everyday..
Nutrition: The food you put in your body has everything to do with your energy, focus and overall state of well-being.
Action item: Keep yourself fueled with small meals every few hours. Eat healthy fats, carbs and proteins throughout the day
Daily Rituals: Establish a consistent routine for your days and week to keep you growing everyday
Action Item: Establish a morning routine like reading, writing, practicing gratitude, meditating and exercising
Visualization: Michael Phelps attributed his 19 gold medals to his ability to visualize his perfect race every night before going to sleep. Practice this mental programming
Action item: Every morning visualize exactly how you would like your life to be 6 months from now and then visualize how your day would go if you had the perfect day from start to finish.
Celebrate: Before any professional game and after any win you’ll see professional athletes celebrating. This celebration gives them the juice to keep going year after year with the same excitement.
Action item: At least 3 times a day celebrate the progress you’re making. Turn “We are the champions” on full blast or just get up and do a fist pump.
Get into Flow: A flow state is the mental state where you're performing an activity and you are fully immersed in a feeling of energized focus, full involvement, and enjoyment in the process of the activity.
Action item: Find out what actions you need to take to get yourself into that state of flow. After you’ve figured that out try to make it a ritual that you practice before any performance you have in the future
By modeling the positive habits and rituals of the most successful professional athletes, I believe we are better able to max out our potential as entrepreneurs.
