Hi my name is Mohammed and this is my presentation. I chose arthritis because I am interested of learning it because my uncle has arthritis and I want to learn some methods to help him reduce the pain

WHAT IS ARTHRITIS

Arthritis is inflammation of the joints and this could happen in two or more joints.

Arthritis is most common in your back, neck, should, and hips

There are several types of Arthritis.

The most common types of Arthritis are Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid Arthritis.

Osteoarthritis is when the protective tissue wears down and gets worse over time as you begin to age

Rheumatoid Arthritis is when the bodies immune system starts to attack your tissues and in some rare cases it starts to attack your organs

SYMPTOMS

  • joint stiffness
  • Fever, chills
  • Swelling on arms, legs, and wrist
  • Pain in your body where an injury occured
  • Limping
  • Rashes on your arms, and legs, wrist
You can experience pain in the joints, ankle, back, fingers, hands, muscles, neck or wrist.

Pain might feel sharp and can occur randomly

Pain can occur while sitting

You can feel your muscle weakening and can have difficulty walking

you can feel the bone outgrowing in your hand and foot

CAUSES OF ARTHRITIS

  • Injury
  • To much metabolism
  • Infections
  • Processed food
  • Fried foods
Age: The increased chance of different types of Arthritis

Overweight and Obesity because the excess fat goes on your joints and causes pain

Injury: because if you damage that joint it can increase the chance of getting osteoarthritis in your joint

Food that increase inflammation are foods made from animals

Too much metabolism because it can be lead to Gout which is severe swelling of pain in your joints

DIAGNOSIS

There are no test that proves that someone has Arthritis. They use a combination of lab and imaging tests. Examples of lab tests are Complete blood count (CBC) which is a blood test. Examples of imaging tests are radiography which uses x-rays to view the structure of the object.

PROGNOSIS

Rheumatoid Arthritis patients life span is more likely to shorten 10-15 years. The joint inflammation will continue overtime which will start to affect multiple joints. your pain and stiffness will not improve and will continue to have trouble walking around

Depending how bad your arthritis gets patients can experience these side effects include

Skin conditions
Heart disease
Osteoporosis
Depression and Anxiety
Cancer
or Eye inflammation

HOW TO PREVENT ARTHRITIS

Eating foods with omega 3 for example eggs, fish, spinach

Keeping track of medicine, symptoms, and your pain

Staying active outside

Resting and taking breaks

Eating a healthy diet that controls inflammation

Sleep well because not sleeping well can lead to arthritis pain avoid caffeine, electronics before going to sleep

Keeping posture: don’t sit down in the same place for hours take a rest to be active
