This is the simplified summary of The Bronze Bow.
(please remember I DO NOT own any of the story or its characters. They all belong to Elizabeth George Speare)
The story of the Bronze Bow is mainly about a boy named Daniel who wants to defeat the Romans because they murdered his father. Daniel has no family other than his estranged sister, Leah, and his old grandmother.
So Daniel runs away to join Rosh who is a Zealot. A Zealot's main job was to eventually raise an army and fight against the Romans, freeing all of Roman-occupied Judea. Rosh and his band of men live in the mountains and steal sheep and slaves from caravans passing through the rocky roads.
One day Daniel went to the mountain top and met Joel and his twin sister Thacia. Joel wants to meet Rosh and join his band even though it is against his father's wishes. Daniel is told to come down the mountain and help rob a slave caravan to get a very strong slave.
Joel is excited that he will actually get to see Rosh rob a caravan. Rosh and his men rob the caravan and get the slave Rosh wanted. Joel begged Rosh to let him join the group. Rosh lets Joel join and Daniel is happy that his new friend can be there.
Simon, Daniel's friend, comes with a message saying that his grandmother is dying and Leah will need someone to care for her since she can only hover in a corner and is frightened by everyone.
Daniel's grandmother does die and Leah is more fearful than ever, a little goat is her only friend. So Daniel must move away from the mountain to the village to care for Leah. He knows he just can't let her live alone because she wouldn't eat and would surely starve to death.
After Daniel moves in he begins to work in Simons shop as a blacksmith. There is a little house connected to the blacksmith's shop, this way Leah can watch Daniel work.
