ASK NERVELLE
Nervelle: "Hi everyone my name is Nervelle Golden Eagle. I'm a Rukai who lives on the planet Euphoria. I'm so pleased to meet you! I'm here to answer some questions from kids who live on the planet Earth and here on Euphoria about me, my people and our other brothers and sisters who live on the planet Earth.
Here's one from Johnathon age 7 from the planet Earth."
Dear Nervelle,
I heard of people who call themselves Native Americans/Canadians here. Who are they?
"Native Americans and Canadians are people who live in America and Canada before white settlers (aka immigrants) settled in."
Here's one from Hannah age 11 from here on Euphoria.
Dear Nervelle,
Are there more than one tribe living on Planet Earth and our planet?
"Absolutely, There's Cherokke, Navajo, Sioux, Creek, Andes, Zuni and many more. There's only one tribe which is my tribe the Rukai living on our planet. But we are separated into different parts of this world and have very special jobs to help and protect our and each other's homes."
Let's see.. Here's a question from a boy named Michael age 10 from the planet Earth.
Dear Nervelle,
What is a warbonnet and why can't I wear it?
"A warbonnet is what some natives in specific tribes on Earth wear to honor that particular native. Wearing a warbonnet that you didn't earn is like wearing a Purple Heart and you never even been to war. I mean I'm sure you wouldn't like it if you saw someone wearing or owning a medal and they didn't earn it or even take part in the event, won't you? And besides if you wear something like a warbonnet you're also taking part in 'Cultural Appropriation' which is wearing or taking something from another race/culture."
One last question, this question is from Cindy age 4 also from the planet Earth.
Dear Miss Nervelle,
Do you live in a Tepee?
:LOL!: "Oh no dear I live in a house just like you. Tepees were large tents that some tribes on planet Earth lived in a long time ago and some other tribes lived in log cabins. But as you see different people from all races and tribes live in different kinds of homes today.
Sorry I can't answer any more but if you still have questions please read online or go to your local library but please ask permission and guidance from your parents. Thank you and Good-bye!
