The sacrament of reconciliation revolves around the confession of sins to a priest or holy figure of the church. This sacrament provides a chance of forgiveness from god to learn from your past mistakes and/or sins and create a better life from them.
Reconciliation allows us to reconcile and to acknowledge our wrong doings. By recognising this we strengthen our once weak relationship with god
Reconciliation holds a high importance in the church due to the fact it can heal or strengthen your relationship with God and/or the Catholic Church
This sacrament also enforces the values of the church and how you will always be welcomed by God and have a place in the church community
Reconciliation is a time of forgiveness, a large value commonly acted out by Jesus through his actions and enforced by him. So Reconciliation is honoured in the church as it acts out Jesus' will
When Catholics go to reconciliation they enter with a holy or reverent attitude towards the church
We feel a sense of relief due to the fact we can once again feel welcome in the Catholic Church community after the acknowledgment of our sins or wrong doings
We go so we can heal our damaged or at risk relationship and learn from our past wrong doings
The minimum amount in which you should go to Reconciliation as a member of the Catholic Church is once a year
Though ideally we should be going once a month
This is a more ideal time frame due to the fact that we sin so often, we are not perfect and sin in our daily life. Due to our common sin this means we have to seek forgiveness continuously
