  • Held in Houston, TX
  • It was a convention to discuss the social, civil and religous conditions and rights in the U.S.A

19th amendment

  • Ratified on August 18 1920 and lobbied by Minnie Cunningham
  • The 19th amendment stated that everyone had equal rights

First oil well Discovery

  • Discovered by Anthony Lucas, Patillo Higgens and John Galey on Jan 10, 1901
  • It was a Texas oil rush that filled 100,000 barrels with oil

  • After the Texas oil rush people learned to make oil wells which largely populated Texas
  • Texans would also sell the oil to make money which made Texas rich
