Where?
About 50% of Minnesota's land is used for agriculture. Usually farms are north or south of the Twin Cities.

How is it used?
Agriculture provides people with food, clothing, etc. Normally Minnesota grows soybeans, corn, and raises turkey, cows, and a few other livestock. But most of the crops that are grown are fed to the livestock.

Laws & regulations :
There are many laws and regulations that are necessary in the agricultural field. Such as rules regarding pesticide use, and permits for forestry, etc.

Some effects on the environment : Usually agriculture is only bad when done incorrectly. Examples of this would be if you irrigate too much, the soil won't be as rich. But an example of something that is negative that is done almost regularly would be deforestation (they need places to grow crops).

Affects on Minnesotans : Because of deforestation, it's a lot windier in some flatter parts of Minnesota.

Recent news : Lately Minnesota crop values have been falling because of declining grain prices. (According to a website I looked at.)
